Winter Hike in Laax

This Winter Season I’m spending in the beautiful area of Flims-Laax-Falera. Those villages are hidden in the canton of Graubünden.

Laax is a small village of around  1300 People and lies at 1100m, also they have one huge Skiresort which is combined with Flims and Falera.

All the Winter hiking tracks are well marked (Pink Signs) and easy to follow.

During the days when I’m not working I love to spend them on top of the mountains. So this week I decided to hike from Crap Sogn Gion to Crap Masegn.

I started in Laax and took the Gondula up to Crap Sogn Gion 2228m, there you can already take a coffee break and enjoy the view down the valley.

The distance for this walk is 3km and they say it takes one hours uphill, that is I think if you run up the mountain… Like me I love to take my time and enjoy the view and taking lot’s of pictures and play in the snow with Timmy. He loves the Snow 🙂

Best reward when arriving at the top at Crap Masegn 2477m is the fantastic the view of the Swiss Alps and a good restaurant

“The Elephant”.

This Hike you could also do the reverse way if you don’t like to walk uphill. Just take the Gondula from Crap Sogn Gion up to Crap Masegn and walk all the way back down. I did that once on a day where the weather changed quickly from sunny to windy and snowing.

The Laax Resort offers special Tickets for People who just go hiking or sledging. Dogs travel for Free, yeah. For this Hike you would need to purchase a Day-ticket.

Take care and until our next Winter Hiking Tour
